WhereMany British enthusiasts had decided not to venture to Incheon this year, but the Koreans withdrew their offer to host UNICA and the Austrians have stepped up. The event will take place in the Banqueting Hall at Fieberbrunn, a town in the Tyrol midway between Innsbruck and Salzburg. That makes it much more easily accessible and less expensive for Britons to attend. At short notice the Filmklub Fieberbrunn has organised it all. |

| 32 countries from around the world present film programmes, 200-300 enthusiasts enjoy them, make friends, talk, eat and drink together. The week includes a half-day outing and a whole-day excursion, an opening and a closing banquet. | ||
TravelAlthough the nearest airports are Salzburg and Innsbruck it is not easy to find convenient and reasonably priced flight to those places. Manchester, Birmingham, and Heathrow do have possible flights.A less obvious option is to fly to and from Munich. There are good flights from many British airports. For all three airports you need to organise onward travel to Fieberbrunn. Public transport involves several changes and many people will prefer to share a minibus taxi service from airport to hotel or guest-house. AccomodationThere is an accomodation booking service in the hands of Marion Pichler from the tourist board. Email: booking@unica2013.com.Some Fieberbrunn hotels are far outside the town to serve the ski-tourists. There are a couple in the middle and many Guest Houses. In Austria the standards will be high. Guest houses do not, however, always cater well for those with walking difficulties. There are two hotels very close to the UNICA venue, which is Fieberbrunn ballroom. The ballroom has a lift, a disabled toilet and can be reached easily from Alte Post Hotel and Hotel Metzgerwirt. Those on the spot “recommend the Hotel Alte Post, because this has been beautifully renovated.” Read that as "nice but pricey". |
