IAC supports the Audio-Visual Movement

For many years a number of AV Workers have been IAC members. The combination of slides synchronised to soundtracks was a forerunner of movies. In recent years many AV workers have moved to digital electronic picture making and projection.

They enjoy the advantage of the Copyright Scheme. Many AV groups are listed in the club section.

Marion Waine and John Rowell run the Peter Coles International AV Competition (formerly the Geoffrey Round - see below). You can contact them at mewaine@nwawavg.org.uk.

The IAC Peter Coles International AV Competition (formerly the Geoffrey Round)

The IAC's annual competition for AV work was originally named after the man who did a great deal to promote the movement within the IAC. Geoffrey Round was a past Chairman of the Institute. In 2011 it was renamed after Peter Coles, another renowned AV worker. It was the first internationally recognised AV competition to go completely digital.

The competition is usually staged in March each year and a selection of the winners is included in BIAFF (The British International Amateur Film Festival).
