IN THE BEGINNING
Chris Saville (Australia)
This plasticine animation (by Elia Szpindle) movie, directed by Chris Saville,
is a sheer joy. Take no notice of the 'cod' warning at the start - it's all
part of the fun.

LAND BELOW THE WIND
Daphne Brown (Herts)
This travelogue is set in the Borneo area, showing lots of flora and fauna.
There is also a charming, relaxed and informal voice-over, which is wonderfully
restrained in the circumstances.

yoke), and the young composer, Jan Sibelius (Adam Rowntree), is a fanatical
patriot because of the years of occupation. He is out one day walking with
his cousin Aavo (Jonathan Straughan), when they meet a similar-aged Russian,
Yevgeny (Samuel Curtis). This day will change Jan's life forever ...

A-WIWIWI
Dr Frank Dietrich (Germany)
Because the Dwarf Goose is an endangered species (there were, at the time
of filming, only 200 left), a group of scientists decide to make the effort
to save them. They then 'bond' with the new goslings soon after birth and
rear them, eventually teaching them to fly. This is all absolutely riveting.
(The title is as near as one can get to the sound the adult geese make.)
