A plasticine animation story about an old man, the last survivor on Earth, living in a derelict village with only a wooden dog as a companion. Running out of food, he decides to cross the wasteland in the hope of meeting other survivors.

3. THE LAND THAT NEVER MELTS

The maker was part of a seven-strong team of students from Southampton University who spent more than eight weeks under canvas in the Arctic. They were studying glaciation on Baffin Island whose Inuit name is the title of the film.

John Straiton (Canada)
This slickly cut entertainment brings stones and pebbles of all shapes, sizes and colours to life. Filmed by a much-acclaimed and much-awarded Toronto film maker while he was recovering from a serious illness. 'When I found out I was going to survive,' he wrote, 'I thought I would let the amateur film world know.'

A documentary study of religious rites on the banks of the Ganges. Kurt and his wife, Inka, travel the world making studies of local manners and customs, often with religious overtones.

A vastly-entertaining record of a typical day at Speakers' Corner in Hyde Park, London, superbly recorded and montaged to get the best interplay between the shouted soap-box points of view and the various audiences' responses.
