These two films are important archival records and illustrate the maker's
skill with a camera when covering important events occurring nearly two decades
apart.

ROYAL OCCASIONS, 1935-1939
Excellent intimate footage. May 6, 1935: King George V's Silver Jubilee
Procession. London 1937: King George VI's Coronation Procession. May 20,
1937: Naval Review at Spithead. June 19, 1938: A thousand Guides from all
over the country march past the King and Queen in the quadrangle at Windsor
Castle. The Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret appear for the first time in
Guide and Brownie uniforms. March 20, 1939: At Guide HQ the two princesses
see the 1938 colour film and tour the camp shop.

ROYAL OCCASIONS, 1952
Filmed during the first year of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, prior to
the Coronation, this contains excellent coverage of Her Majesty. It has a
commentary and apt musical accompaniment. Transfer from 16mm film. Apr. 10:
Maundy Thursday. June 5: Trooping the Colour (briefly). June 26: The Royal
Windsor Horse Show, including Col. Llewellyn on Foxhunter. July 30: Goodwood
Races. Gordon Richards rides Gay Time to victory. Aug. 6: In the Cowes Regatta,
the Duke of Edinburgh finishes third in the Dragon Class with 'Bluebottle'.
Sept. 4: The Royal Braemar Highland Games. The Duke is seen in the Balmoral
tartan for the first time. Nov. 4: Arrivals for the State Opening of Parliament.
