Do you have home movies of life during
World War II? Do you have home film or video footage? Turner Prize winning artist Gillian Wearing is looking for people who would be interested in taking part in a film project. She is looking for people who have shot video or film and have something interesting to say about what they have shot. We are not looking for completed films, or films that have been put together with a narrative in mind. It could be something from long ago or more recent, it could be poignant or rather mundane footage that you never thought that anyone would want to look at. The most important thing is that you would like to talk about what you have shot. Gillian is looking for people who are prepared to be filmed talking about their footage and of course we would want to include the footage in the film. Gillian's work always centres around ordinary people, she uses film and video to explore human relationships and the detail about people lives. Gillian was a founder member of The Brit Art Movement and has exhibited all over the world. You can read more about her in this article published in The Times www.mattlippiatt.co.uk/Gillian%20Wearing.htm and also on Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gillian_Wearing If you are interested in sending us some film please contact me to talk about the project more : Lisa James 07711 204274 / 0207 253 6613 - gammagrrl@easynet.co.uk A chance to show and discuss your film with an audience. Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum would like to find out if there is scope to establish a programme of events for local makers of short films and videos. The events would take place on Thursday nights from 6.30-7.30pm at the Art Gallery & Museum and would provide a showcase for students and artists working in the fields of film and digital media. The aim would be to screen up to three pieces of work at each event and there would be the chance for the makers to discuss their work with the audience. This programme would provide a platform for recent film and video work and aims to support new and emerging practitioners as well as more established artists. There would be no charge for the use of the Art Gallery & Museum's facilities. If you would like to offer your views or find out more about this proposal, please contact Tammy Woodrow at the Art Gallery & Museum for more information: tammy.woodrow@warwickdc.gov.uk or telephone, 01926 742719. ITV Meridian's ever popular archive series - The Way We Were, is back. It's the show that features high-profile celebrities and anecdotes from yesteryear. If you have any old 'home movies' (copyright free) on cine reels, DVD or VHS we'd love to hear from you. It could feature in the new series. We're interested in everyday life, but we're also very interested in less common themes such as iconic historical events or unusual home movie gems that stand out from the crowd. You MUST be from the South/South East so that we can collect your material. Please call the hotline now on tel. 023 8068 2393 or e-mail films@cloudonetv.co.uk . Thank you. THE QUEEN'S 1953 TOUR OF THE COMMONWEALTH Lion Television are working on a new 4-part series for Channel 4, called ON TOUR WITH THE QUEEN. They will be following in the footsteps of the Queen's 1953 Tour of the Commonwealth, looking at the effects of Empire on the various locations, both then and now. They hope to use a lot of archive material in the series, and wonder if any of our readers have personal footage that theycould use. They are hoping to find films that may have been taken by Expat Nationals who have since returned to the UK. The dates and locations of the tour are:

- featured our Chairman, Linda Gough, on her honeymoon as part of a look at how home movies encouraged Britons to change from vacations at home to package holidays in the Spanish resorts. This fascinating series is doing more and seeks our help. They are hoping to base a documentary around the West Indies cricket tours to England in 1976 and 1984. Do you have any material directly linked to either of these cricket tours? The second request is much broader; do you have any material from 1976 or 1984 (or a year or two either side) which reflects the social and historical context of the time. For example any footage of ordinary West Indian life in England during this time. Email: or write to: jacob.hickey@bbc.co.uk Nation on Film, BBC TV, The Mailbox, Birmingham, B1 1RF

I'm happy to discuss requirements, but generally I prefer to work remotely, using my home studio. If you'd like to get in touch, email me on dickinsonjon@hotmail.com - 24Nov05

I would be very interested in writing soundtracks and soundscapes for film
or any type of media. I have my own studio at home and I have facility to
create all types of soundbytes, songs, soundtracks and effects. I also play
the guitar, keyboards, bass and can progam a variety of Music and Digital
Audio software. I would like to try my hand at doing some scores films etc. Finding UK venues for our national events has been getting harder. Since many of you attend events run by other organisations, perhaps you can pass on details of any suitable places? The essential requirements are:
Please email details of any possible venue to the IAC Office.

Free download of Demo CD's at 4shared.com:
In the 4shared window click on the name of the file you wish to download.
A new window should open. To start the download simply scroll down and push
the button "Download" at the bottom of the page. The Download speed should
be quite fast.
Ask me if you're interested in a (non-exclusive) license at a low price. Of course, I could always do some changes to the compositions to make them suitable for your film. Self-evident you can also have a complete new composition which is adapted to your actual project.
