Another fabulous weekend of entertainment has been lined up for the SoCo Weekender 2008 including the “Little Mermaid” and “Little Dolphin Competitions”, the ever popular “Lucky Dip” which gives you a chance to have short films viewed just for fun, a show presented by a guest club, a hands on demonstration of lighting for video and the SoCo AGM. There’s time to go out and about and enjoy the beautiful gardens, coast and shopping facilities that Bournemouth has to offer. Add to this the facilities of a comfortable hotel, excellent food and the chance to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. You will, as usual, be well catered for from the Friday evening meal through to a traditional Sunday lunch; there’s even a light lunch on Saturday. Your only extras will be drinks. The inclusive cost for the total package is just £86 per person and represents incredible value for money. This weekend, as in previous years, is selling out quickly with only a few rooms left. With most guests returning year after year, you will have to be quick if you want to take advantage of this exceptional offer. Remember that the fee of just £86 includes accommodation, meals, events and a souvenir programme. Single room bookings are limited so get in quick. Competition 2008 Results
The Award Show was presented by Cheltenham Video Makers on March 15th at The Reddings Community Centre, Cheltenham. The SoCo Roadshow 2008 programme is available from the IAC Film Library on a 2 DVD set running 1 hours 21 minutes approx. Once again we were complimented on the refreshments. (I'm beginning to wonder if that's why some of them come.) This year we had 43 entries and all were shown and as far as I could tell no one dropped off. Phil Marshman FACI 2007 News THE ELEVENTH SoCo WEEKENDER 2007 took place from Friday 26th October - Sunday 28th October 2007 at the Kensington Hotel, 18 Durley Chine Road, West Cliff, Bournemouth, Dorset.
