North West Region of IAC

The Region includes clubs at Altrincham, Blackpool, Bolton, Burnley, Bury, Cheadle, Isle of Man, Morecambe, Pendle, Poynton, Preston, Southport, Stoke and Warrington, The Wirral and Hoylake (or if you prefer Merseyside!)

RECENT EVENTS

The Mersey Ten Competition 2009 was admirably hosted by Southport MovieMakers.
The Competition is an annual event held by the North West Region of the IAC to encourage competition and exhibition of individuals and club films at regional level.
A good audience which had travelled widely assembled at St.James Church Hall Birkdale, Southport for the presentation evening on March 7th. Whilst entry numbers were down on previous years it gave an opportunity for all eleven entries to be screened.
The judges Paul Jordan and Paul Guntrip from Huddersfield were present and gave the audience an entertaining presentation.
The winning film was Sound Asleep by Southport MovieMakers. The Mersey Ten trophy was presented to Nigel Barton who was also last year's winner.
The Merlin Trophy went to G B Ducker for Around the House.
Blood Lake by Paul Bagshaw was Very Highly Commended, New Mills Hydro by Don Groom, Highly Commended and Inside Music by James Pope was Commended. Each received certificates printed and donated by John Morin FACI.

FUTURE EVENTS

IAC NORTH WEST FESTIVAL 2009
Saturday, 14th November 2009 10 am to 5.00pm. Guest Speaker and Judge - Phil Martin.
Once again the Festival will be held at CHAD's Theatre Mellor Road Cheadle Hulme SK8 5AU.
Closing date for entries October 5th.
