THE BRITISH AMATEUR VIDEO AWARDS (BAVA) l995
The complete 10 winners of the competition organised by Camcorder User, Video Camera and What Video, sponsored by Scotch Video-cassettes, as premiered at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) on November 18, 1995.
| 1. | KILLER INSTINCT Richard von Kaufmann (Cumbria) Toby (Kevin Lennon), one of three young teenager friends with James (Aaron O'Brien) and Will (Andrew McKerlie), is fascinated by guns and killing wildlife. Some years later, Toby (now played by Ian Fleming) has a change of attitude after he and James (now Darren Mapletoft) have joined the army and are involved in active service (the Falklands perhaps?). This somewhat harrowing story is told in flashbacks, with excellent Widescreen photography by Paul Gordon. BAVA Trophy 1995 |

| 4. | THE WORLD OF P.J. CROOK Oscar Riesel (London) A fascinating study of the work and the world of an artist. She talks about her approach, as does her husband Richard Parker Crook, also an artist, and we see many examples of her work, including a commission and its delivery. | 7. | ONE COLOUR WHITE Tom Guard A pacey, surreal, comedy about a revolt by photocopiers because of the advances of VDUs! Once you accept the somewhat ludicrous basic premise, everything that follows is perfectly reasonable!!
