The organisers of UNICA 2003 will prepare invitations for young filmmakers under special conditions. Each Federation will receive two free accommodation places (hotel and board). Applications will be accepted in the a form of a film CV not later than May 1st, 2003.

THE INTERNATIONAL SHORTFILM FESTIVAL OBERHAUSEN
invites filmmakers from all over the world to submit their shorts, on film or video, to its 49th Festival which takes place from 1st to 6th May 2003.

The Festival is known for its openness to new forms and narrative styles. Approximately 70 titles will be selected for the International Competition and 30 to 35 titles each for the German Competition and the Children and Youth Film Competition.

In these three competitions, the works will compete for 13 prizes worth a total of EUR 32,500.
Deadline for submissions is January 15th, 2003.
Accepted formats - film: Super 8, 16 and 35 mm; video: DV, DVCAM, S-VHS, Beta-SP/PAL.
All genres, length International - max. 35 min, production date International after 1. 1. 2001.
Competitions:
International, German, International Children's and Youth Films (ages 5-16).

Pozega town.

11th CROATIAN MINUTE MOVIE CUP REGULATIONS
UNICA Patronage

  1. 11th Croatian Minute Movie Cup is organised by GFR FILM-VIDEO and the Croatian Film Association and will take place on May 23 - 24, 2003 in Pozega, Croatia.
  2. The festival is open to all foreign and Croatian film/video makers older than 16 who are allowed to send an unlimited number of videos.
  3. The length of videos must not be more than 60 seconds (including all titles and sound).
  4. Entries can be in PAL system on VHS, SVHS , BETACAM SP, miniDV, DV, DVCam, CD-ROM (including software for running it) and DVD.
    One can send several videos on a single cassette or CD-ROM. The beginning of each entry must be properly marked and between them there should be 15 - 30 seconds of black, blank without any sound.
  5. Pre-selection will be done by a jury appointed by the organisers. The international jury of film/video experts will choose the three best entries in the official programme and award valuable prizes as well as medals and diplomas. A special prize for promoting solidarity between nations or using new forms of expression will be given by UNICA. One prize will be given by audience vote.
  6. Entries will be projected in the best technical and security conditions and returned within 30 days after the festival. Return post fees will be paid by the organisers.
  7. The organisers may use entries for strictly non-commercial purposes to promote the festival and make copies for the organisers when authorised by the author.
  8. The organisers invite authors whose entries are in the official programme to come to the festival and offer free board and accommodation (May 22 - 25, 2003) but cannot cover travelling expenses. All other authors are also invited on favourable terms.
  9. Deadline for receiving your entries and entry forms is April 15, 2003 (all deliveries should be marked "no commercial value - for cultural purposes only". 10. DEUTSCHER MINUTENWETTBEWERB 9-11th May

Für ihre Filmfeste suchen die Videofilmer Senftenberg stets eine andere Stadt als Festivalstätte aus. Zum Wettbewerbsjubiläum ist es Dresden. Das Wochenende vom 9. bis 11. Mai 2003 ist dabei kein gewöhnliches, sondern gehört dem größten Musikereignis Dresdens, dem Dixielandfestival.

Neben dem Minutencup wird es deshalb einen Sonderwettbewerb geben, in dem die Filme gefragt sind, deren Vertonung besonders gut gelungen ist. Ein amüsanter Abend und eine Überraschungsfahrt sollten letzter Anlass sein, Kontakt mit dem Veranstalter aufzunehmen und zu kommen:

SEIT 20 JAHREN FILMER-FREUNDSCHAFT MIT FRANKREICH

Zum 20. Male trafen einander die Mitglieder des Lindauer Filmclubs "Inselstudio 72" (Leiter: Michael Barz) mit ihrem französischem Partnerverein aus Chelles, dem "Club Audio Visuell 77" (Leiter. Jean-Claude Landre) am Bodensee. Neben umfangreichen "Touristik-Aktivitäten" - unter anderem ein "Besuch beim Bayern-König Ludwig II" (Schloss und Musical) - standen natürlich auch filmische Aktivitäten auf dem Programm: So gab es im Saal des alten Rathauses eine 80minütige Multivision-Show, ein Feuerwerk von Diapositiven aus 13 (!!!) Kodak-Karussell-Projektoren; zwei Tage später folgten dann im Vereinslokal Inselgraben "Videos aus beiden Clubs". Der Lindauer Filmclub war dabei mit Videos von Ruth M. König, Carsten Ruchholz, Jörn Nickel und Michael Barz vertreten. Am Sonntagmorgen dann, nach vier Tagen und nach vielen Dankesreden, verabschiedeten sich die Freunde aus Chelles - nicht ohne eine Einladung für das nächste Jahr nach Frankreich ausgesprochen zu haben, die von den Lindauern natürlich gerne angenommen wurde.....!
