The festival announced on its website:
BAD NEWS! Due to reduced funding
Cinema For Thurso Group is suspending the festival until
further notice. We will hold on to all films submitted
so far and will show them when we are next able to
proceed with the event. Until then however please do NOT
send any further entries until we advise of any change
in our circumstances. Meanwhile we hope you will
continue to check back and thank you for your support so
far. We look forward to better times :)
Based in Thurso, this event was designed to act as a
showcase for amateur, student and low budget film makers
Age Groups:
- Adult Amateur (Non Professional) where the maker
has no financial or commercial object and produced
without professional assistance.
- Junior Amateur Applicable to any entrant under the
age of 16. (With Release Form signed by parent or
legal guardian)
- Student where the maker is a Student or Young
Person in full time education from 16 up to an age
limit of 25 and may have limited professional
assistance.
Entries may be on any lawful subject, on any topic. 1
to 5 movies per DVD in chapters. Any length up to 2
hours 5 minutes.
Entries not in English must have English subtitles
integral to the movie (i.e. not using DVD additional
features.
Entries accepted on DVD, DVD-R, DVD+R, VideoCD, MiniDV
(PAL or NTSC) or SUPER 8MM.
NTSC and Super 8mm entries may have to be transfered by
CROSSWATER PICTURES for this event. The entrant will not
be a charged for this but the copy will remain the
property of Crosswater Pictures.
