IAC supports the Audio-Visual Movement
|
For many years a number of AV Workers have been IAC members. The combination of slides synchronised to soundtracks was a forerunner of movies. In recent years many AV workers have moved to digital electronic picture making and projection.
They enjoy the advantage of the Copyright Scheme. Many AV groups are listed in the club section.
Marion Waine and John Rowell are currently the IAC Council members looking after our AV affairs. You can contact them at av@theiac.org.uk.
The IAC's annual competition for AV work is named after the man who did a great deal to promote the movement within the IAC. Geoffrey Round was a past Chairman of the Institute. It was the first internationally recognised AV competition to go completely digital.
It is usually staged in March each year and a selection of the winners is
included in BIAFF (The British International Amateur
Film Festival).
The 2012 Competition will take place on 10th-11th March 2012 at The Capel Curig
Community Centre, Capel Curig, Nr Betws-y-Coed LL24 0EE.
