Prize for Elegia
Reg Lancaster tells me he had a late email from Serge Michel the other night seeking contact details for Geoff Addis who has been awarded a nice sounding UNESCO prize for Elegia, to be presented on the first floor of the Tour Eiffel on Ist October.

The "A l'Affiche du Monde" Prize was created in 1997 in the context of the International Conference organised by Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, French Research Institution) in co-operation with IFTC and AITED (International Association of Educational and Discovery Televisions) to be awarded - on a yearly basis - to a work produced by a film school. Since 1999 its has been extended to include a film/video produced by a non-professional filmmaker.

The Conference affords scientists, creative artists, producers and broadcasters a forum for encounter, exchange and ideas.

The list of previous winners is highly prestigious:

1999 - Kelou by Ahmad Kavand (Iran)
2000 - Pianissimo by Mino Croce (Italy)
2001 - Dancing by Jan Baca (Spain)
2002 - Die Stille Is Mir Laut Genug [Silence Is Loud Enough For Me) ] by Jorg Walther (Germany)
2003 - Why Dragons No Longer Exist by Alban Le Lièvre (France)

- Dave Watterson  October 2004
