This years Albany Competition for Sussex Clubs was held in the Newell Centre at Chichester on Sunday 3rd April. Eight clubs had entered the 2005 challenge Competition and the films were judged on the day by Reg. and Annabelle Lancaster and Frank Hyde from Orpington Video and Film Makers. Following the screening of the entries the Judges retired to an ante room whilst the audience took refreshments and had the opportunity to renew old friendships.
South Downs Video & Film Makers took first place with their comedy Rough Luck which was also awarded the trophy for the best comedy. Eastbourne and District Camcorder Club were runners up with “Barry Boot Bites Back”. The Trophy for the best use of sound was awarded to “A Slice of Life” made by Haywards Heath Cine and Video Society. Arthur’s Birthday by Chichester Film and Video Makers was awarded the award for the best edited movie. The Event was hosted by Portsdown camcorder User’s Club and projection was undertaken by a team from Chichester Film and Video Makers. The theme for the 2006 competition is “Reflections” and that for 2007 will be “Lucky Break”.
