Club Celebration  | Contact

The group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month at Wylde Green Community Hall, Emscote Drive, off Birmingham Road, Sutton Coldfield. (behind the Spar supermarket.) at 7.30pm.

Alan Moore (our newest member) is busy editing Sutton's biggest project in years.

Editing over four hours of fighting at the National Meet of the Sealed Knott (a group which re-enacts events of the English Civil War) held at Little Aston on 27 & 28th August 2000. The project involved a crew of  seven varied camera users, two wild sound recorders, plus himself perched on top of his Landrover to shoot the 3,500 soldiers & 100 Cavalry in costume.

Alan Moore.
All the material has been copied to Casablanca, so we'll have a balanced final copy. Good luck Alan ! Sealed Knott participants.
Many thanks to Wyre Forest, Nuneaton, Lichfield, and Burton Camcorder Clubs who boosted the numbers, for the first technical lecture of the new season by Kevin O'Malley of Sony Broadcast, supposed to be on Technologies & Formats, (from mini DV right up to the new D9 broadcasters' standard.)  Kevin revealed why Sony's DV home camcorders give improved picture quality.  He also regaled us with his store of tales of his own and other Midlands professional cameramen (which he'll disavow having told!) of behind the scenes from programmes like Howards Way. Kevin O'Malley.

He used a Sony Vario laptop computer with DVD, thrown onto a big screen with the latest high quality video projector. Trevor Mall adds: "A great night Kevin.  We hope he can come again to give us another irreverent look at how the movies are made !!!"

The club's programme commencing in September will appear here shortly.
