The Nottingham Amateur Video Festival was an annual national competition, which is, alas, no longer with us. 2001 took it into its 10th year. It was open to all amateur movie makers in the United Kingdom and gave entrants the chance of seeing their movie on the big screen at the Savoy Cinema. All entrants received a complementary ticket to the festival and were entered into a prize draw. A panel of judges viewed all the entries and each entrant received a copy of the judges' comments. Trophies and Certificates were awarded to the winning entries.

Cash prizes were sponsored by Nottingham Cine & Video Makers.

FESTIVAL SCREENINGS WERE AT THE SAVOY CINEMA

Sunday May 13th 2000 - from the 78 entries and more than 70 people travelling from all over Britain to attend it was a great success.

1st prize was won by Pip & John Townley for The Jolly Captain
2nd prize to David Whitworth for A Breath of Fresh Air
3rd prize to Gerry Bishop for Steam Fiesta

Drama

1st prize was won by Airstrip One Productions for Jokers Wild
2nd prize was won by Terry Tkachuk & John James for Partners
3rd prize was won by Bristol Film & Video Society for Anne Teaks

Documentary

1st prize was won by Bob Harper for India's Golden Triangle
2nd prize was won by Mike Webb for Roof of Straw
3rd prize was won by Carl Brandwood for British Butterflies in the Year 2000
